Kesha is well and truly back. Following the release of her latest smash hit record Rainbow, she’s taking the world by storm and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.

The Praying songstress appears on the latest cover of Rolling Stone magazine, an experience which she described as “heart-achingly so special” after her mother used to follow her around singing “the cover of the rolling stone.”

Kesha looks fierce on the cover, rocking bold brows, a naturally flawless complexion and with her hair effortlessly styled.

The past few years have been tough on Kesha, what with her lengthy legal battle with producer Dr. Luke, which prevented her from releasing new music. However, in her cover interview with Rolling Stone, she opens up about wishing to move on from her legal woes. She also speaks bravely about her struggle with an eating disorder and entering rehab.

Kesha shed light on the pressures she felt to look a certain way in order to be a successful musician, saying: “I really just thought I wasn’t supposed to eat food.”

She went on to admit: “And then if I ever did, I felt very ashamed, and I would make myself throw up because I’d think, ‘Oh, my God, I can’t believe I actually did that horrible thing. I’m so ashamed of myself because I don’t deserve to eat food.'”

After confiding in her mom, Kesha began a rehabilitation program, which she completed in 2014 and it was only after speaking to a friend, who had just won several Grammys, did she realise how strong she had been. Kesha shared: “He was like, ‘Congratulations to you,’ and I was like, ‘For what?’ And he was like, ‘Who cares about my Grammys? You just saved your f—ing life.’ And I just was blown away by that, because it made me look at the whole thing totally differently.”

Kesha wrote many of the songs from her successful album Rainbow whilst in rehab after convincing the facility administrators to allow her to have an instrument. She was allowed a keyboard, which she used with strict supervision.

In her interview with the world famous magazine, Kesha also speaks about her love of rock ‘n’ roll, saying that Kick Out the Jams MC5 is one of the greatest songs: “The first time I heard that song, I went down a rabbit hole, with MC5 and then Iggy Pop. It was basically the beginning of my life. I was 10 years old!”

Kesha is currently on tour, performing the songs from Rainbow to fans across the globe.
