Duke added a second player to its 2023 class on Thursday when Sean Stewart, a forward from Windermere, Fla., announced his commitment to the Blue Devils. Stewart, a 6-foot-8 power forward, is rated four stars and the No. 33 player in the class by the 247Sports Composite Rating.
Stewart joins five-star point guard Caleb Foster, who committed in September, in the Blue Devils' 2023 class as head coach-in-waiting Jon Scheyer prepares to succeed Mike Krzyzewski following the 2021-22 season. Duke also has the No. 1 class in 2022, with four of the top 15 prospects in the nation, including Dereck Lively II, the No. 1 player in the class.
Stewart chose Duke over an offer list that included Michigan, Georgetown and Ohio State. He took an official visit to Duke in early November, which is when he received his scholarship offer.
Stewart's father, Michael "Yogi" Stewart, played eight seasons in the NBA with the Kings, Raptors, Cavaliers, Celtics and Hawks.
