Australian basketball legend Andrew Gaze has given one of the stars of The Bachelor a cheeky sledge.
In a first for the reality dating show, there are three men looking to find love on the new season — 25-year-old drummer Jed McIntosh, 35-year-old restaurant manager Thomas Malucelli and 27-year-old basketballer Felix von Hofe.

von Hofe played US college basketball at Eastern Washington University before signing a deal back in Australia with Melbourne United as a development player.
He played one season with Melbourne United in Australia’s premier basketball league, the NBL, in 2017-18.
von Hofe averaged 0.5 points, 1 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game.
United finished on top of the table and went onto win the NBL championship in the 2017-18 season.
von Hofe now plays for the Melbourne Tigers in the south conference of the second tier NBL1 competition.
Gaze is a Tigers legend, having won two NBL championships with the team during his glittering basketball career that saw him claim a record seven NBL MVPs.
The 57-year-old is the coach of the Tigers in NBL1 and he didn’t miss the chance to wish his charge von Hofe well on The Bachelor.
“Good luck to Tigers star and my good friend Felix Von Hofe on his debut on The Bachelor tonight,” Gaze wrote on Instagram
“May he find true love that calms his nocturnal activities and gets him fired up for the 2023 NBL1 South season!”
It’s only one week into the new season of The Bachelor and von Hofe has been coy when asked if he finds love on the show.
He previously dated Australian runner Liz Clay, who competed at the Tokyo Olympics in the 100m hurdles.
